Graduate education The graduate programs constitute a core part of the OSCE Academy activities. MA in Politics and Security and MA in Economic Governance and Development are two unique programs that give young Central Asian professionals a chance to receive a high quality graduate degree in the region. Both programs are developed as multidisciplinary programs following similar programs in Europe and the USA. Students pay no tuition, and receive a stipend that covers living and housing costs in Bishkek. MA in Politics and Security has 27 students from all CA states. The curriculum is rigorous, drawing from the most relevant aspects of International Relations, Comparative Politics, Security Studies and Development. The program has been operating since 2005. MA in Economic Governance and Development, the new program launched in 2011, has 23 students from all CA states. The program is essentially multi-disciplinary, with courses covering Economics, International Development, Public Policy and others. Faculty of both programs consists of a good mixture of international and local professionals, nearly all having doctoral degrees and active in research. The Norwegian Institute of International Relations, Geneva Center for Security and Peace, University of St Andrews are among key partners both in teaching, training and student support. As of 2013, we have over 200 alumni, with about 70% living and working in the region. The latest alumni survey suggests 75% of alumni are employed and 14% are continuing their education.
