Dr Pal Dunay is Director of the OSCE Academy. Dr Dunay, a lawyer by training, holds a PhD in International Relations from the Budapest University of Economics. Dr Dunay teaches Political Institutions and Processes, Peace and Security Challenges in Central Asia and Cases in IR

Dr Emilbek Dzhuraev is a Teaching and Research Fellow. Dr Dzhuraev has a PhD in Political Science from the University of Maryland, USA. Dr Dzhuraev teaches Political Theory and Comparative Politics: Topics in Democratization Studies.

Mr Payam Foroughi is a Teaching and Research Fellow. Mr Foroughi is a PhD Candidate at the Department of Comparative Politics and International Relations, University of Utah. He teaches Aspects and Issues in International Relations and Academic Writing.

Mr Shairbek Juraev is Deputy Director of the OSCE Academy. He holds an MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Mr Juraev teaches Central Asian Politics and Security and Foreign Policy Analysis.

Dr Alexander Wolters is a DAAD fellow. Dr Wolters has a PhD from European University Viadrina. Dr Wolters teaches Central Asian Politics and Security and European Politics.

Visiting Faculty

Dr Helge Blakkisrud is a Head of the Centre for Russian Studies, Norwegian Institute of International Affairs, Norway. He has a PhD in Political Science from the University of Oslo. Dr. Blakkisrud teaches Nation, State and Ethnicity.

Dr Dieter von Blarer is an Ombudsman of the Canton Basel-Stadt in Switzerland. He has a PhD in Human Rights from the University of Berne. Dr. Blarer teaches International Law and Human Rights.

Dr Tim Epkenhans is a Professor from University of Freiburg, Germany. He has a PhD degree in Islamic Studies from the University of Freiburg. Dr. Epkenhans teaches Political Islam.

Dr Graeme Herd has PhD from the University of Aberdeen. Dr Herd teaches Peace and Security Challenges in conjunction with Dr Pal Dunay.

Ms Susan Hoivik is a language consultant at the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs. She holds an MA degree (hons) in English and Comparative Literature from Columbia University. She teaches Academic Writing.

Mr Jonathon Hornbrook is a Program Director at the German Technical Co-operation (GIZ) in Bishkek. He has MA degree in Politics and Economics from the University of Hamburg. Mr Hornbrook teaches Sustainable Development.

Mr Augustin Nicolescou is Project Manager/Researcher of Herbert C. Kelman Institute for Interactive Conflict Transformation, Austria. He has MA in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Vienna. In collaboration with Dr. Graf, he teaches Prevention, Management and Resolution of Conflicts.

Dr Indra Overland is a Head of the Russian and Eurasian Studies Department, Norwegian Institute of International Affairs, Norway. He has a PhD in Geology and Geography from the University of Cambridge. He teaches Energy Politics.
