The admission to the MA in Politics and Security Programme consists of several stages:
Stage 1: February- early April
Formal call for applications is released. Application forms with required documents are accepted.
Stage 2: April
Applications are reviewed and successful candidates are shortlisted for next round of selection.
Stage 3: Late April - June
Shortlisted applicants are invited to take written examinations and tests. Tests are conducted in capital cities of Central Asian countries and Afghanistan. The exams consist of a) English Grammar (see a sample here), b) Test of Written English (an essay) (see a sample here), and c) A multiple choice test on the subjects relevant to the programme (International Relations, Politics) (see a sample here).
Applicants who pass Stage 3 are invited for personal interviews. Interviews are conducted in capital cities of Central Asian countries and Afghanistan.
Final admission decision: early July
The Admissions Committee makes a final decision. For the impartiality and transparency of the process, some of the members of the Final Admission Committee are invited externally from international organizations in Bishkek. Interviews and written tests take place in the following cities. Successful applicants will be informed of the exact date, time and location of where recruitment takes place. The OSCE Academy does not cover interview expences of shortlisted applicants. The following schedule is tentative and subject to change.
