OSCE Academy establishes Cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of the KR

On 23 July, the OSCE Academy signed an Agreement with the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic for the establishment of internships for graduates under the Junior Public Officers (JPO) Programme. The Agreement was signed by Mr. Aidin Sharsheev, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy, and Dr. Alexander Wolters, Director of the OSCE Academy.

Under this Agreement, annually one graduate of the OSCE Academy will undergo a three-month internship at the Ministry, gaining the experience and participating in the daily life of the public service institution.

During the signing ceremony, Dr. Wolters expressed the Academy’s sincere gratitude to Mr. Sharsheev, and highlighted that the internship at the Ministry is a great opportunity for the graduates who want to contribute to the development of the country’s economy and gain further experience in the public sector. In turn, Mr. Sharsheev endorsed the initiative and expressed strong interest in welcoming first intern already in 2019.

The Junior Public Officers (JPO) Programme is operating since 2010 and implemented in accordance with the Agreements signed with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Institute of Diplomacy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Afghanistan and the Agency for Investment Promotion and Protection of the Kyrgyz Republic. The Programme receives financial support from the Academy’s long-term partner, the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI).
