OSCE Academy prolongs its Partnership with the Investment Promotion and Protection Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic

On 8 October an Agreement was signed between the OSCE Academy in Bishkek and the Investment Promotion and Protection Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic to prolong its well-established cooperation within the framework of the “Junior Public Officers” Programme. The Agreement was signed by Dr. Alexander Wolters, Director of the OSCE Academy, and Mr. Shumkarbek Adilbek uulu, Director of Investment and Promotion Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Since 2016, when the first Agreement was signed with the Investment Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic, five alumni of the MA Programme in Economic Governance and Development have had a chance to successfully complete their traineeships at the Agency.

During the signing ceremony, Dr. Wolters expressed the Academy’s appreciation to Mr. Shumkarbek Adilbek uulu and to the Agency for this opportunity for the graduates of the Academy. For his part, Mr. Shumkarbek Adilbek uulu endorsed the continuation of the cooperation and underlined the high-level of professionalism of the graduates in their work during their traineeships.

The Junior Public Officers (JPO) Programme is operating since 2010 and implemented in accordance with the Agreements signed with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Institute of Diplomacy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Afghanistan, Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Agency for Investment Promotion and Protection of the Kyrgyz Republic. The Programme receives financial support from the Academy’s long-term partner, the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI).
