OSCE Academy and MFA of the Republic of Kazakhstan sign Memorandum on Internships of Graduates
On 1 June 2022, the OSCE Academy has signed a Memorandum with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan allowing its graduates from Kazakhstan to intern at the Ministry within the framework of the “Junior Public Officers” Programme.

Director addresses the OSCE Permanent Council
On 26 May 2022, the OSCE Academy Director Dr. Alexander Wolters addressed the OSCE Permanent Council within the Annual Report presentation of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek delivered by Ambassador Alexey Rogov. Following Ambassador Rogov’s speech, Dr. Wolters presented developments that have taken place at the OSCE Academy since June 2021.

Finnish Delegation visits the OSCE Academy
On 23 May 2022, the Delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland, headed by Ms. Marja Liivala, Director-General; and accompanied by Ms. Sirpa Oksanen, Director; Mr. Anssi Leino, Counsellor; Mr. Matti Väänänen, Senior Adviser; and H.E. Mrs. Soili Mäkeläinen-Buhanist, Ambassador of Finland to the Kyrgyz Republic; visited the OSCE Academy within their official trip to Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.

On 16 May 2022, OSCE Academy DAAD Associate Professor, Dr. Anja Mihr, and OSCE Academy Senior lecturer, Dr. Viktoria Akchurina, participated in the conference „The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and its impact on Human Rights compliance along the‚ New Silk Road,“ organized by Dr. Udo Steinbach, Director at the MENA Study Center of the Maecenata Foundation, together with Dr. Anja Mihr, and Dr. Brigitte Weiffen from The Open University (UK) and Chair of IPSA Research Committee 34 “Quality of Democracy.”

Students Learn Tips about the Business Plan from an Accounting and Finance Expert
On 20 May 2022, Ms. Ziming Rao, Adjunct Professor at Webster University in Tashkent and an expert in accounting and finance, visited the OSCE Academy and delivered a guest lecture to students of the MA in Economic Governance and Development Programme. During the lecture, titled “The Nuts and Bolts of Business Plan: a USAID Project to assist SMEs in Issyk-kul Region,” Ms. Rao explained why the business plan is important and what the structure and content of a good business plan should look like.

Thai Diplomat visits the OSCE Academy and Delivers a Guest Lecture to MA Students
On 13 May 2022, Dr. Paradorn Rangsimaporn, a Minister-Counselor and Deputy Head of Mission at the Royal Thai Embassy in Nur-Sultan, covering Thai relations with Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, and an Independent Researcher, visited the OSCE Academy and delivered a guest lecture to the MA students.
