On 25 October students of the MA Programme in Politics and Security met the Head of the EU Delegation to Kyrgyzstan Ambassador Eduard Auer at the Delegation’s office in Bishkek. During the meeting, held in a Q&A format, the Ambassador discussed with students questions concerning, among others, the development of the political and economic relationship between the EU and the Central Asian states; its main policies in relation to human rights in Kazakhstan and in the region as a whole; the security cooperation between the EU and Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan; the EU’s role in stabilizing Afghanistan; and the sanctions imposed by the EU on Russia.
This meeting was organized within the framework of the European Politics Module, taught by visiting professor Dr Clara Portela, University of Valencia, Spain.
