2011 Alumni Conference “Central Asia: Comprehensive Security and Sustainable Development”

On September 3rd, 2011, the OSCE Academy Alumni Network conducted the first Alumni Conference "Central Asia: Comprehensive Security and Sustainable Development." 15 alumni presented their papers within the three OSCE dimensions-panels: Political Military, Human and Economic and Environmental. Five opponents argued with the paper presenters, thus opened up group discussions. Mr. Sean McGreevy and Ms. Zeinep Isakova from the OSCE Centre in Bishkek and Mr. Michael Unland from the OSCE Centre in Dushanbe chaired and excellently moderated the conference panels. The Conference was honored and welcomed by the Ambassador Andrew Tesoriere, the Head of the OSCE Centre in Bishkek and Ms. Anne Marte B. Amble, the Deputy Head of Mission of the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Astana.

The Alumni Conference was followed by joint reception with experts from the Seminar on Security in Central Asia co-organized by the OSCE Academy, GCSP, NUPI and NESA.
