OSCE Academy Director addresses OSCE Permanent Council

On 21 May OSCE Academy Director Dr. Alexander Wolters addressed the OSCE Permanent Council within the Annual Report presentation of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek delivered by Ambassador Pierre von Arx. Dr. Wolters presented the summary of the activities of the OSCE Academy for the period since June 2019 and outlined several key developments as well as plans for the near future. The address highlighted the successful continuation of both Master Programmes, despite the challenges put forward by the Covid-19 pandemic, and activities that allow the Academy to keep its contacts to its alumni. Director Wolters informed about new research activities, including the establishment of full-time Postdoc positions at the institute and the launch of new publication series. Emphasis was also put on the establishment of new partnerships and further engagement with EU funded programmes, in particular Erasmus+ mobilities. An overview over the professional training courses, including, for the first time, a training in Analytical Writing in Kyrgyz language for journalists and researchers completed the presentation. The delegations commended the Academy’s successes in their responses to Ambassador von Arx’s and Director Wolters’ presentations and pledged their continuous support to the project.
