Dr. Almakan Orozobekova joined the OSCE Academy in 2023. She is also a Coordination Council’s member of the OSCE Network for Women Professionals on Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism and Radicalization that Lead to Terrorism in Central Asia. Previously, she worked for the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine and at the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology, Research Group “How ‘Terrorists’ Learn” in Germany. Almakan gained a doctoral degree from the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg. She completed fellowships at the NATO Defense College in Italy and Geneva Centre for Security Policy in Switzerland.
