Central Asia is one of the most vulnerable regions to climate change in the world. According to international data, the ecology and the economy of the region will face challenges. Today, the region is in dire need of research support for the development and implementation of climate policy.

As part of the Jean Monnet Module - European Climate Policy project, the OSCE Academy is organizing a roundtable during which participants will hear an overview of the current state of climate change in Central Asia and its impact on the region's economy, health and natural resources. It is expected to discuss national climate strategies and action plans adopted in the countries of Central Asia, including measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, support for renewable energy sources and sustainable use of natural resources.

It is also expected to discuss the experience of European countries in the field of climate policy, as well as the role of science, education and public awareness about climate change and measures taken to overcome them.

The purpose of the round table is to discuss ideas, proposals and experience in the field of climate policy in order to develop specific recommendations and action plans to intensify research activities in the field of climate change in Central Asia.

Tasks of the round table:
- Identify priority areas for climate policy research
- Discuss issues of education and training in universities in relevant specialties
