On 1 February 2022 Prof. Dr. Jakob Lempp, Associate Research Fellow at the OSCE Academy, and Professor at the Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences, delivered a Public Lecture on "EU and Central Asia Relations". In his presentation, Dr. Lempp talked about EU actions towards Central Asia. In particular, Dr. Lempp indicated policy areas like energy, security, environmental issues, human rights and the rule of law and many others. He provided an overview of the main objectives and goals of the EU strategy on Central Asia, adopted in June 2019, as well as instruments and tools to implement the strategy. Furthermore, he elaborated on some projects, actors within the EU involved and identified key challenges in the relationship between the EU and the Central Asian states. In conclusion, Dr. Lempp provided recommendations for policy-makers and other stakeholders related to European Central Asia policy and answered the questions of participants.
