On 28 March the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the OSCE Academy held its first online meeting in 2022. The meeting was chaired by the Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek, Ambassador Alexey Rogov. Ambassador Tuula Yrjölä, Director of the OSCE Conflict Prevention Centre (CPC) and Mr. Marcin CzapliĆski, Deputy Head of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Poland to the OSCE in Vienna, greeted the participants of the meeting and expressed their full support to the Academy’s activities and its further development. Director Dr. Alexander Wolters presented an update of the Academy’s recent activities and projects implemented since the last BoT meeting in summer 2021. That included a comprehensive overview of the master programmes, professional trainings, research & publications, new international partnerships, alumni relations and finances. During the meeting the Members of the Board voted on the amendments to the Academy’s Charter as well as endorsed the newly drafted Development Strategy. Director Wolters furthermore received support for the joint initiative with the Global Campus on Human Rights to establish a Central Asian regional Programme on Human Rights and Sustainability.
Present at the Board of Trustees Meeting were representatives from Austria, the European Union, Finland, Germany, Italy, Kyrgyzstan, Norway, North Macedonia, Poland, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, the United States, Uzbekistan, as well as the Geneva Centre for Security Policy, the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs, the OSCE Conflict Prevention Centre, OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
