From 28 November to 2 December 2022, a short-term course "Introduction to East Asian Politics" was held at the OSCE Academy. The 5-day course was aimed at providing eight Bishkek-based university students with basic knowledge of East Asian history, political transformation, political economy, conflicts and territorial disputes. Each day of the course consisted of one lecture, expert analysis seminar, team debate and analytical essay writing session, designed to prepare students who are interested to pursue a future career in research. The course focused on four East Asian entities: People’s Republic of China, Japan, the Republic of Korea and the Republic of China (Taiwan). The lecturer of the training was Temur Umarov, a Research Fellow at the OSCE Academy in Bishkek and a Fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
