On 25 April 2024, within the framework of the first mobility Dr. Satarkulova has met with the students and faculty of the Marmara University and delivered a presentation about the OSCE Academy, its programmatic and research activities as well as about the education system in Kyrgyzstan in general.
On 26 April 2024, the MOCCA team conducted a research seminar on "Issues in Formality, Informality and Corruption: Findings of the Three EU Maria SkÅ‚odowska-Curie Actions Projects", attended by 6 researchers, including two from Kyrgyzstan, and interested researchers, faculty and students from Marmama University. During the seminar Dr. Satarkulova presented the MOCCA project and the selected research topic "Harnessing AI in the Fight Against Corruption: A Comprehensive Analisys for Central Asian OSCE pS." MOCCA team conducts empirical studies in Central Asia and examine (anti) corruption laws and policies adopted (“law in books”) and how they are applied and work in real-life situations (“living in action”).
On May 10 2024, during the visit of the delegation from the Prosecutor’s Office in Uzbekistan, Dr. Almakan Orozobekova gave a presentation on “Terrorism Financing” at the Sociology of Law Department, Lund University in Sweden.
From the beginning of 2023 we are proud to be a Central Asian project partner of the "MOCCA: Multilevel Orders of Corruption in Central Asia," a Horizon 2021 project led by the University of Lund, Sweden. MOCCA is a research and staff exchange programme intended to contribute to the global and national efforts of understanding and counteracting corruption by conducting research on the multilevel orders of corruption in five countries in post-Soviet Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan). MOCCA is a 4-year research and training project funded by the European Commission. From April 2024 Academy's representatives started their secondments at the leading European partner universities. In April 2024, two Academy representatives started their secondments at leading European partner universities: Dr. Almakan Orozobekova, Project and Training Specialist in the Research and Training Department, at Lund University, Sweden; and Dr. Indira Satarkulova, Deputy Director, at Marmara University, Türkiye. From May, Dr. Burulcha Sulaimanova, Senior Lecturer, will also undertake a secondment at Marmara University, Türkiye.
