OSCE Academy Staff Highlights: Dr. Almakan Orozobekova's Key Milestones

Dr. Almakan Orozobekova, who is currently working in the Research and Training Department of the OSCE Academy, has had a year of highlights. She completed her secondment to Lund University in Sweden within the framework of the project “Non-Western Migration Regimes in a Global Perspective” in spring of 2024. Later, in fall she became the Coordinator of the OSCE Network for Women Professionals on Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism and Radicalization that Lead to Terrorism (P/CVERLT) in Central Asia. She was a speaker at the Second Meeting of the Central Asia Regional Expert Council on Rehabilitation and Reintegration of Returnees, hosted by the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Tashkent and co-organized by the OSCE, UNOCT and UNRCCA in November 2024. The same month she joined the “RCA Regional Capacity Hub” event on preventing violent extremism that was organized by the USAID, DAI, and Paperlab in Astana. In addition, as an alumna of the Program on Terrorism and Security Studies at the GCMC in Germany, she shared her insights and experiences from the program with the new international cohort of this program in December 2024.
