On 18 August 2025, Professor Andrew J. Nathan from Columbia University visited the OSCE Academy during his trip to Kyrgyzstan. He was accompanied by Ms. Jessica Leonard, Regional Director for Central Asia at the American Councils in Almaty, Kazakhstan. They were warmly welcomed by Dr. Emilbek Dzhuraev, Senior Lecturer in Politics and Security, Dr. Sebastian Mayer, DAAD Associate Professor, and Ms. Victoria Orazova, Head of the International Department. Ms. Leonard shortly presented the project of the American Councils, aimed at academic and expert exchanges among U.S. and Central Asian scholars, as part of which Prof. Nathan is visiting the Central Asian region. After a brief introduction of the OSCE Academy, Dr. Dzhuraev and Dr. Mayer had an academic discussion about current global and regional developments.
