The OSCE Academy in Bishkek hosted the International Policy Paper Writing Seminar

Between 18 and 23 April 2016 the OSCE Academy in Bishkek hosted the International Policy Paper Writing Seminar. 14 young scholars, activists and policy-makers from Central Asian countries, Mongolia and Afghanistan participated in this training. The main aim is to enhance capacity in writing policy briefs on various regional topics. The seminar was jointly taught by two trainers, Dr Alexander Wolters and Mr Chris Rickleton.

During this week the trainees discussed how to identify and highlight a problem, theories, conceptualization and analytical framework as well as the importance of clarity in paper writing. Trainers put special emphasis on the structure of short and long policy papers, methodology and data presentation.

As an outcome of this project, several excellent papers are expected to be published in the framework of the Central Asia Policy Briefs series.  The OSCE Academy seeks to create and maintain a regional network of active young scholars who advance in complex and objective analysis and who carry the potential to become leaders, decision makers and decision shapers.
