On 9 March the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) held a training on “Academic Writing by International Standards and Statistical Computing Introduction” at the OSCE Academy. Eleven young researchers, MA and PhD students, were introduced to online and offline literature research. They learned to develop a research design and were trained in academic writing. They were further introduced to international academic standards of peer reviewed journals and learned to assess and evaluate text and journal articles. Finally, the workshop introduced the participants how to do a literature review and how to generate, organize and analyze data.
The training was taught by Prof. Anja Mihr, DAAD Visiting Professor at the OSCE Academy, Prof. Rolf Kuchenbuch, DAAD Visiting Professor at Kyrgyz-Turkish “Manas” University, and Dr. Niels Thevs, Coordinator for Central Asia for World Agroforestry – ICRAF.
