From 21 to 25 October the OSCE Academy conducted its International Policy Paper Writing Seminar for young scholars, activists and policy-makers from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. This one-week training included lectures, class discussions, group work and peer-editing sessions led by Dr. Emil Dzhuraev, Senior lecturer, and Dr. Lance Tillman, Visiting Lecturer of the OSCE Academy. Participants had a chance to learn in detail what policy paper is, its varieties and structure, as well as how to write an effective text, pitch it, organize language and maintain style. In peer-editing sessions participants drafted their policy papers, which they presented on the final day of the training in front of peers and received their certificates.
