The OSCE Academy in Bishkek is a public foundation, created in 2002 as a result of the partnership between the Kyrgyz Government and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). The OSCE Academy promotes values and principles of the OSCE through research, post-graduate education, professional trainings, and intellectual exchange. The OSCE Academy provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in the Department of Education. Its professional and dynamic team, the opportunity to acquire and develop qualifications in an educational institution within an international context are the advantages of working at the OSCE Academy in Bishkek. The post of Admission Assistant is an important role within a very busy Education Department. The start date will be discussed with the most successful candidate upon completion of the selection process.

Admission Assistant is expected to:

- develop Students’ Recruitment strategy for 5 years (with annual review and updates when necessary);
- arrange advertisement of Academy’s Master, Bachelor and Summer School programmes throughout the year, prepare and distribute admissions/marketing materials;
- ensure the Academy's high visibility among interested target audiences (universities, schools, etc.), in Central Asia, Mongolia and Afghanistan;
- organize and participate in the meetings and visits to the universities, schools, youth unions, etc. and present the Academy’s programmes to the target audiences;
- organize Open House Days at the OSCE Academy;
- draft, format, print and scan documents as instructed;
- find and facilitate the process of the Academy’s participation at educational fairs in Central Asian countries;
- prepare reports, provide necessary support during admission process as required by the administration and Education Department, assist in planning and arranging related events;
- ensure smooth running of the Admissions Office;
- ensure the manual and electronic filing system is correct and kept up-to-date;
- maintain the current and develop paper filing systems for all applicants;
- track the status of applications on the admissions platform Embark, providing feedback to the applicants;
- perform other duties as specified in the Contract.

Qualifications and eligibility:

- MA degree and/or diploma of higher education in the social sciences, liberal arts, or a related field;
- at least three years of working experience in higher education and on office environment;
- excellent knowledge of oral and written Russian and English (knowledge of Kyrgyz language will be an asset);
- experience in working with online application platforms, with a variety of software packages to manage data, produce documents and presentations;
- proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite;
- experience of working with universities in the CA region is an asset;
- excellent analytical skills, experience of working with a large amount of information and documentation within a short period of time;
- proven track record of setting up and running a range of administrative tasks;
- experience of dealing with a vast number of email and telephone enquiries;
- excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines;
- the ability to work independently and as part of a small team;
- knowledge and awareness of the importance of confidentiality and data protection;
- high level of stress resistance;
- able to use imagination to problem-solve and undertake tasks in the most effective way possible;
- reliable, flexible, able to travel in the wider region of Central Asia.
