Regional Climate Policy Roundtable (recording)

On 27 June 2025, the OSCE Academy held a roundable on the topic: “Advancing Regional Climate Policy in Central Asia: Lessons from the EU and Future Perspectives.”  The conference was also the concluding meeting of the Jean Monnet Module Project on European Climate Policy (EUCP) coordinated by Dr. Rahat Sabyrbekov. The meeting was opened by Dr. Pal Dunay, Director of the OSCE Academy who emphasized the interdisciplinary importance of addressing climate matters, and the need of cooperation between governments, economic actors, NGO sector, including activists, and scholars. In addition to national attention, climate policy issues have to be on the regional agenda. It is fortunate that regional cooperation has improved during the last ten years and serves as foundation for working together across the region on such a complex matter. Read more...

Roundtable “Central Asia’s Readiness for Climate Change: Science and Policy” (recording)

On 10 July 2024, the OSCE Academy in Bishkek organized its second roundtable on "Central Asia’s Readiness for Climate Change: Science and Policy” as part of the Jean Monnet Module - European Climate Policy project funded by the European Union. Representatives from the government of the Kyrgyz Republic, non-profit organizations, international organizations, and universities in Central Asia took part in the event. Read more...

On 11 April 2023, the OSCE Academy in Bishkek organized a roundtable on "Climate Policy in Central Asia and Research Potential" as part of the Jean Monnet Module - European Climate Policy project.
