The group provides informal setting for young leaders and OSCE delegations, Partners for Cooperation, and executive structures and institutions to discuss, highlight, and encourage the meaningful participation of young women and men in the politico-military, economic and environmental, and human dimensions of security.

Since January 2021, the Group has been co-chaired by Spain, United States of America and Kyrgyzstan, demonstrating group’s broad support and sharing the responsibilities to lead the group which Spain had solely assumed since the group’s founding in 2015. GoFYS meetings are held three times a year, with each meeting chaired by a different co-chair.
