Round Table on Human Rights and State Security

On 4 November students of the MA in Politics and Security Programme will have a chance to exchange views with experts about the fine line between the protection of civil rights and state security threat during a round table on human rights.

The roundtable will be moderated by Dr Dieter von Blarer, independent expert, former Ombudsman of the Canton of Basel and will gather experts from the OHCHR Regional office for Central Asia, the World Bank and other institutions.

During the meeting students will discuss such delicate issues, like anti-terrorism and radical extremism protection through the prism of the protection of human rights, the changing nature of social protests in Kyrgyzstan and other relevant and topical issues.
