OSCE Academy Director presents at the Board of Trustees meeting

On 1 November 2017 the Director of the OSCE Academy Dr. Wolters travelled to Vienna to attend the regular Board of Trustees meeting, presided by HE Ambassador Pierre von Arx, Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek. The meeting served the main purpose to inform the members of the Board about the current activities of the Academy and the plans for 2018 and beyond. Main questions for discussion were the new ExB project for years 2018-2020 and the plans of the Academy’s management to establish full-time faculty positions. While the first item found the Board’s approval the second item was considered a necessary step to help the Academy to increase its research capacity and to set the conditions for developing its educational programmes. Director Wolters further used his visit to the OSCE to have several follow-up meetings with Delegations and with Partner Institutions in Austria. On Friday, 3 November, he gave a guest lecture to students of the Diplomatic Academy in Vienna, following an invitation of Prof. Markus Kornprobst. This lecture served as preparation for some of the students and faculty in light of an upcoming visit to Central Asia within the framework of a study tour.
