Regional Training on the Analysis of the Impact of Regulatory Legal Acts held at the OSCE Academy

From 24 to 28 June, the OSCE Academy conducted a regular Regional Training on the analysis of the impact of regulatory legal acts for junior and mid-level public officials from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, in order to improve the public officials professional skills and qualifications. Trainer - Izmailov Kemal Osmanovich, from the Institute for Public Analysis and Research, Kyrgyzstan, held course in interactive format, where 24 participants had an opportunity to familiarize themselves with government administration; government regulation and citizen participation in political decision making; the basics of public policy analysis; opportunities and challenges in the use of RIAs and the experience of other countries. Also, during the week, participants presented their projects and practiced to apply regulatory impact analysis as well as discussed the features and differences of the assessment in each of participants' countries.

"I am engaged in strategic planning, so this training is useful for me. We do not  use RIAs in the Republic of Tajikistan, as there are no specialists in this field" - noted Olimov Mirzo, training participant from Tajikistan. He also stressed that he would recommend to his colleagues in Tajikistan to study RIA and apply it in their work.
