Dr. Nurgul Tilenbaeva is a development economist with professional experience in academic research and international development. She works as an Assistant Professor at the Economics Department of the American University of Central Asia in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, where she teaches Development Economics and Applied Econometrics. Apart from her teaching experience, she worked as a research and communications officer at the International Development Policy journal (Geneva, Switzerland), coordinated a project involving the Kyrgyz Parliament (Bishkek, the Kyrgyz Republic), and consulted the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) (Geneva, Switzerland) on development issues in sub-Saharan Africa. 

Dr. Nurgul Tilenbaeva is a recipient of the Global Undergraduate Exchange Fellowship and a participant of the Swiss Program for Beginning Doctoral Students in Economics organized by the Swiss National Bank.

Research Interests:
Her academic and research interests include development economics, migration, health economics, and international trade.
