The Academy hosts a special module on the OSCE
In the week of 10-14 February the OSCE Academy is hosting a special module on the Organzation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) for new cohort of students in MA in Economic Governance and Development programme. The module aims to widen and deepen the students’ understanding of the key goals of the OSCE, with particular focus on the OSCE activities in the economic and environmental issues. Roel Janssens, Economic Adviser at the Office of the Coordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities (OCEEA) is coordinating the module, with valuable contributions from the OSCE field missions in Central Asia.
Head of the OSCE Centre in Bishkek Ambassador Sergey Kapinos delivered the key introductory lecture in the beginning of the module on 10 February 2014. He outlined the general OSCE priorities and highlighted the key activities of the OSCE in the Kyrgyz Republic before accepting questions from students.
The OSCE module is a part of the curricula of both master's programmes. Lecturers are selected from staff members of the OSCE missions in different countries. The main purpose of this module is to familiarize students with the basic principles of the mission, goals, objectives and guidelines of the OSCE activities.
