On February 19, 2014 the OSCE Academy hosted the presentation by the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund, Russia.
Ms Natalia Burlinova, Gorchakov Fund’s Programme Director briefly presented the goals, objectives and the results of Fund’s activity. She also shared the most striking success stories with students of the OSCE Academy. Students had a chance to discuss with Ms. Burlinova opportunities of cooperation with the Fund, possible joint projects in public diplomacy as well as participation in the Fund's own programs.
The presentation was followed by a public lecture on "Security Issues in Central Asia in the context of processes in Afghanistan." Mr. Mendkovich, the Gorchakov Fund’s expert, provided a brief overview of the key stages of the post-2001 developments in Afghanistan, including the evolution of militant forces and possible security implications of the ISAF withdrawal for Central Asia.
