OSCE Academy Hosts Youth Conference Celebrating Human Rights Day and 75th Anniversary of Universal Declaration of Human Rights

On 11 December 2023, the OSCE Academy hosted a Youth Conference, dedicated to Human Rights Day and the 75th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The event, supported by the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek in collaboration with the Academy, was opened by Dr. Indira Satarkulova, Acting Director of the OSCE Academy in Bishkek. The conference featured distinguished speakers, including H.E. Ambassador Alexey Rogov, Head of Office at the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek; H.E. Antje Grawe, Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in Kyrgyz Republic; and H.E. Marilyn Josefson, Ambassador of the European Union to the Kyrgyz Republic. Presentations on "Children's Security" and “The Importance of Human Rights Education at Schools and Universities” were delivered by Academy students.

The 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a landmark document, has inspired over seventy global human rights treaties, shaping today's human rights landscape.
