Senior Lecturer Joins Discussion on Trade Diversification Organized by CAREC Institute

On 9 August 2024 Dr. Burulcha Sulaimanova, Senior Lecturer of the OSCE Academy, participated in a pivotal virtual Think Tank Network (CTTN) Dialogue, focusing on “Trade Diversification in the CAREC Region: Opportunities and Challenges” the CAREC Institute facilitated. This gathering brought together experts from the CAREC Institute (CI), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and national representatives from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, and Pakistan. The event examined the complexities of current trade dynamics, barriers, and pathways toward diversification within the region.

Dr. Sulaimanova delivered a presentation on the current state of digital trade facilitation in Kyrgyzstan. She provided a statistical analysis of the UN Global Survey on Digital and Sustainable Trade Facilitation and offered policy recommendations, including strengthening legal and regulatory frameworks, enhancing automated systems and electronic submissions, and facilitating e-payments.
