On 19 November 2024, the OSCE Academy welcomed Dr. Kadisha Dairova, Vice President for Student Affairs and International Cooperation at Nazarbayev University, and Ms. Aliya Kaimoldinova, Director of the Department of Internationalization at Nazarbayev University, accompanied by Mr. Kazybek Zhussipakhmetov, First Secretary at the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Kyrgyz Republic. Dr. Pal Dunay, Interim Director of the OSCE Academy, Dr. Sebastian Mayer, DAAD Associate Professor, Ms. Victoria Orazova, Head of the International Department, and Dr. Almakan Orozobekova, Project and Training Specialist, represented the OSCE Academy at the meeting and provided the guests with an overview of the Academy and its activities as a regional training and research institution. Dr. Dairova and Ms. Kaimoldinova have briefly presented the history of the establishment of Nazarbaev University and where it stands now as one of the leading universities in the region and beyond. Currently, Nazarbayev University is working towards making itself self-sustainable. Due to the high-level recognition and standards of the University this is a realistic objective. This meeting marked the first opportunity for the educational institutions to formally discuss potential partnership in research and academic areas, whereas collaboration among the level of individual scholars has taken place among the faculty members and researchers of both institutions for several years.
