OSCE Academy Board of Trustees Biannual Meeting

On 18 November 2024 the Interim Director of the OSCE Academy Dr. Pal Dunay presented at the Board of Trustees (BoT) meeting which was held in an online format in Bishkek. The meeting presided by H.E. Ambassador Alexey Rogov, Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek and Chairman of the BoT of the OSCE Academy.

Following the opening remarks, the Academy’s Board of Trustees were updated with the progress and results of achieved, current and planned activities, projects, initiatives and new collaborations. This regular meeting was extended to cover detailed discussions on the Academy’s financial standing and needs for 2025 and beyond, challenges related to the recent developments in the Kyrgyz tax and social contributions’ legislation and other issues.

The meeting united the members of the Board of Trustees for discussion and exchange on the progress related to ongoing negotiations held with the Kyrgyz Government regarding potential expansion of the OSCE Academy’s campus facilities necessary to enhance the institutional capacity of the Academy’s significantly expanded programmatic activities. Members of the Board expressed their support to the Academy’s activities, highlighting the importance of retaining its regional nature with the continuing balanced participation of the seven states (5 Central Asian states, Afghanistan, and Mongolia) in its programmes.  Specifically, the United States and Norway, that contributed to the exchanges underlined the importance of promoting the education, research and dialogue in the region and confirmed their readiness to continue supporting the OSCE Academy.
