Interim Director Presents to the Board of Trustees of the OSCE Academy and Conducts Bilateral Meetings in Vienna

On 27 January 2025, the Interim Director of the OSCE Academy, Dr. Pal Dunay presented at the Board of Trustees (BoT) meeting which was held in Vienna in a hybrid mode and had a number of bilateral meetings with OSCE representatives.

The BoT meeting presided by H.E. Ambassador Alexey Rogov, Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek and Chairman of the BoT of the OSCE Academy and was opened by Ms. Kate Fearon, Director of the Conflict Prevention Centre of the OSCE Secretariat, and Ms. Edith Vakkilainen, Advisor to the Permanent Mission of Finland to the OSCE. During the Opening remarks, Ambassador Rogov, Ms. Fearon and Ms. Vakkilainen expressed their strong support to the nomination of Dr. Pal Dunay for the position of OSCE Academy Director, as Dr. Dunay was one of the candidates who applied for this position.

Following the opening remarks, the Academy’s Board of Trustees were updated with the latest developments at the Academy and had an opportunity to get acquainted with a vision of Dr. Pal Dunay, as the nominee for the post of Director, on where the Academy should move in the next few years. Dr. Dunay has highlighted the areas that might require more attention, but emphasized that “the Academy will continue to prepare a future generation of intellectuals in the region.”

After the Board of Trustees meeting Dr. Dunay had a number of bilateral meetings. He met the Secretary General of the OSCE, H.E. Mr. Feridun Sinirlioglu, the Director of the Conflict Prevention Centre, Ms. Kate Fearon and the representatives of Finland, Germany, Hungary, Italy and Kyrgyzstan.
