OSCE Academy Signs Agreement for CAREC Gender & Green Innovation Event in Kyrgyzstan

On 11 June 2025, representatives from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Ms. Zulfia Karimova, Principal Regional Cooperation Specialist at the ADB Central and West Asia Department, and Ms. Asel Kubanychbekova, Consultant at the ADB, visited the OSCE Academy to formalize their partnership by signing an agreement for the upcoming CAREC Gender and Green Innovation event, scheduled for Fall 2025 in Kyrgyzstan. They were welcomed by Dr. Pal Dunay, Director of the OSCE Academy, Dr. Shairbek Dzhuraev, Deputy Director, Dr. Burulcha Sulaimanova, Head of the Research and Training Department, and Ms. Victoria Orazova, Head of the International Department.

Dr. Dunay provided the guests with an overview of the Academy's history and highlighted its research activities, drawing attention to various publications such as policy briefs and research papers. In her address, Ms. Karimova presented a comprehensive overview of the CAREC Programme and its priority sectors, which include transport, trade facilitation, trade policy, and energy. She also talked about the 11 developing member countries engaged in the programme, noting that Kyrgyzstan is this year’s chair. Additionally, she emphasized how CAREC could leverage its extensive network of scholars to foster greater collaboration among institutions. The meeting concluded with Dr. Dunay and Ms. Karimova signing the cooperation agreement.
