OSCE Academy Welcomes Norwegian Delegation

On 12 June 2025, the OSCE Academy hosted distinguished guests from Norway: Mr. Knut Are Okstad, Minister Counsellor of the Norwegian Delegation to the OSCE in Vienna, Ms. Maria Gjørwad Hagen, Senior Adviser, Section for Prevention and Stabilization, Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad), and Ms. Elisabeth Librekt Olsen, Senior Advisor in the Research group on climate and energy at NUPI, as part of their visit to Kyrgyzstan. They were welcomed by Dr. Pal Dunay, Director of the OSCE Academy, Dr. Shairbek Dzhuraev, Deputy Director of the OSCE Academy, Dr. Burulcha Sulaimanova, Head of the Research and Training Department, and Ms. Victoria Orazova, Head of the International Department. During the meeting they discussed matters related to projects financed by NUPI, the headquarters of the OSCE Academy and its prospective move to a new building, the Board of Trustees charter-based mandate, the OSCE Academy’s visibility at the OSCE in Vienna, and eventually also at the OSCE Human Dimension conference in Warsaw. Following the meeting with members of the management of the OSCE Academy, the Norwegian delegation met with MA students of the Politics & Security and Economic Governance & Development programmes.

Norway is part of the Board of Trustees of the OSCE Academy, which acts as a corporate body created to govern the management and activities of the OSCE Academy. Norway contributes to these activities through the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI), one of the key donors and partners of the Academy since 2007.
