Global Campus Central Asia held a workshop: “Self-expression through Art, Play & Reading!”

21 July, 2025

On 21 July 2025, GC Central Asia, with support of the OSCE Academy, and the Right Livelihood Foundation, organized a vibrant workshop in the frame of the Children's Rights Project within MAHRS Programme dedicated to Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) — the right to rest, play, cultural life, and the arts. Held at the Orion Hotel in Bishkek, the event created a safe and inspiring space for children to express themselves and learn about their rights.

The day began with an art therapy session led by Kristina Kareeva, Specialist in Art Therapy. Children drew their favorite animals and explored questions like: What animal is it? What does it like? Does it have friends or enemies? What does it need?

Next, Ms. Nazgul Kadyrova, BA Programme Specialist at the OSCE Academy, led a reflective book club session titled “Let’s Talk About What We Read: Lessons, Conclusions, Emotions.”

The workshop concluded with a session by Ms. Karlygach Nurmanbetova, MAHRS Programme Specialist, focusing on Article 31 of the UNCRC, helping children better understand their right to rest, leisure, play, and participation in cultural life.

The workshop provided an opportunity to explore emotions, talent, and celebrate children’s rights in action.
