Permanent Representative of Switzerland to the OSCE and the UN in Vienna Visited OSCE Academy

On 2 September 2025, H.E. Ambassador Raphael Naegeli, the Permanent Representative of Switzerland to the OSCE and the UN in Vienna, visited the OSCE Academy. He was welcomed by Dr. Pal Dunay, the Director of the OSCE Academy; Dr. Shairbek Dzhuraev, the Deputy Director; Dr. Burulcha Sulaimanova, the Head of the Research and Training Department; and Ms. Victoria Orazova, the Head of the International Department. During the visit, Ambassador Naegeli expressed his interest in gaining a comprehensive understanding of the Academy's activities, both regionally and globally. Switzerland is one of the major and long-standing donors of the OSCE Academy. In light of the upcoming Swiss OSCE Chairpersonship, participants of the meeting discussed the priority areas of support to the Academy to ensure its further development. Pending issues on the agenda of the OSCE Academy with an emphasis on taxation, student visas, and the circle of donors contributing to the extra-budgetary funding of the Academy were also addressed. At the end of the visit, Ambassador Naegeli had a tour around the Academy's building and learned more about its history.
