Cholpon Osmonalieva took up the role of Head of the Department of Education in 2019. She received her Diploma of Higher Education in Economics from the Kyrgyz State National University and prior to joining the OSCE Academy in Bishkek worked at the Polish-Kyrgyz Research Project «Contemporary Central Asia. Kyrgyzstan». She moved to the OSCE Academy in Bishkek in 2003, starting as a volunteer for the first project of the OSCE Academy - MA programme in “Political Science (Central Asia)”. Cholpon Osmonalieva served at the OSCE Academy as an Assistant, an Academic assistant in 2003-2011, and as an Academic Supervisor in 2011-2018. She was directly involved in developing new educational programs – MA in Economic Governance and Development and BA in Economics, and participated in launching the MA in Human Rights and Sustainability.

As Head of the Department of Education, Ms. Osmonalieva is responsible for implementing of the OSCE Academy’s educational programmes. She oversees, monitors and ensures the quality of the curricula and instruction, and she is responsible for the licensing and accreditation processes of the undergraduate and graduate programmes of the OSCE Academy.
