When is the deadline for applying for the MA Programmes of the OSCE Academy in Bishkek?
The deadline for applying to both MA in Politics and Security and MA in Economic Governance and Development programmes 2023-2025 is 10 February 2023, 11 pm (Bishkek time).
Can I apply for MA programmes if I have not yet completed my current study?
Yes, but only in case if you are in your last year of study and expect to receive your diploma (degree certificate) before the start of our academic year (1 August 2023). In this case, instead of diploma you must submit an official letter/certificate from your university indicating expected date and year of your graduation and your current transcript.
What documents should be submitted for applying for the MA Programmes?

Should copies of diplomas and transcripts be certified by notaries?
No, we do not need your documents to be certified by notaries at this stage.
Will my diploma and transcripts be accepted if they are in languages other than English or Russian?
No. Your diploma/transcripts must be translated into English or Russian and the translation should be certified (signed and stamped) by your university (department).
Can I apply if my academic background is not relevant to MA programmes?
No, completion of an academic degree of higher education (four-year BA, MA, Specialist Diploma) in a related academic field is necessary.
Am I eligible for the programmes if I am from non-OSCE member country?
No, with Afghanistan being the only exception. Only applicants from the OSCE participating states can apply (check here for the full list of the OSCE participating states).
Do you require TOEFL or IELTS scores?
No, the OSCE Academy will conduct its own written exams after applicants pass the first round.
How is the admission process organized at the OSCE Academy?
Admission process consists of three stages:
1) review of all applications and shortlisting candidates for the second round;
2) conducting written tests for shortlisted candidates;
3) conducting interviews with the selected candidates.
What are the main criteria in the selection process?
The selection in the first round consists of screening completed application forms and attached academic documents. At this stage, the commission evaluates academic achievements, work experience and the quality of statement of purpose. Since the OSCE Academy has limited number of seats in each MA programme, all applicants are ranked and only top students are invited for the next rounds.
Will I be notified if I do not pass the first round?
No. Due to a very large number of applications, the OSCE Academy does not inform unsuccessful candidates in the first round. Only successful candidates will be notified by email.
How much is the tuition at the OSCE Academy?
The OSCE Academy does not charge tuition fees. All accepted students receive full tuition waiver, and additionally, are entitled for a monthly stipend covering living costs in Bishkek.
Is the OSCE Academy accredited?
Yes, the OSCE Academy is accredited by the Ministry of Education of Kyrgyzstan. Students are given Kyrgyz state diplomas. Additionally, the OSCE Academy issues its own certificate and transcripts.
What is the language of teaching at the OSCE Academy?
All courses are taught in English.
Does the OSCE Academy offer part-time or evening courses?
No. The OSCE Academy does not offer part-time or evening degree courses.
Does the OSCE Academy have dormitories? If no, where do foreign students live?
No, the OSCE Academy does not have dormitories but it provides a stipend of 450 Euros per month which include housing allowance.
Can I apply to both MA programmes?
If you have relevant background, you may apply to both MA programmes.
