We would like to present a success story of Danat Tumabayev from Kazakhstan, an alumnus of the OSCE Academy MA Economic Governance and Development, class of 2017. Today, Danat is working as Zhas Orken specialist at the subsidiary of Sovereign Wealth Fund «Samruk-Kazyna» JSC, which initiated a contest amongst the graduates for participation in the two-year Zhas Orken program that aims to attract and prepare future executives and top managers. As the candidates get accepted, they have to pass through the intensive 5 weeks training session, culminating in the allocation of the participants to one of the Samruk-Kazyna's affiliated enterprises, wherewith the rotation cycle of 5 months the participants will be assigned to a new company. Thus, within the program's total duration period of 20 months, the applicants will have a chance to work in four different companies. Our alumnus has already passed two rotations - at the “Air Astana” JSC and at the uranium mining sector of JV “Inkai”.
He believes that the turning point of his career was the studies at the OSCE Academy. In fact, during his MA Programme, Danat had completed an internship at GIZ Kyrgyzstan where he taught the computer skills class for middle school students in rural areas. He shared his knowledge and experience in presentation skills, resume writing and family budget management. He tried his best to motivate students to study and be accepted by the most prestigious universities and pass on their knowledge to future generations.
On top of that, Danat was provided with another great opportunity from the OSCE Academy. He was offered and successfully completed a 6 months internship in the OSCE Office of Representative on Freedom of the Media in Vienna. He was assisting in monitoring violations against journalists, drafting press releases, official letters and other documentation on the Central Asian region. Following this, our alumnus was granted with the brilliant 3 months chance to work as JPO from the OSCE Academy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He had broadened his knowledge and understanding of the Ministry's internal operating processes.
“By using the given opportunity, I would like to express my gratitude to the OSCE Academy staff members who always keep in touch with me. I use every chance to participate in various alumni events organized by my alma mater. I believe that the OSCE Academy is the best educational institution which prepares and connects the future leaders of Central Asian region.”- concludes Danat.
The OSCE Academy, in turn, is very proud to see its alumnus achieve great professional milestones.
