OSCE Academy jointly with Office of the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan meet Young People to share the Opportunities

On 7 December the OSCE Academy jointly with the Office of the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan organized events for students in Tashkent, to inform them about the opportunities the Academy and the Organization in general, offer to young people.

At the Westminster International University in Tashkent, the delegation was welcomed by Rector Bakhrom Mirkasimov, highlighting the ongoing collaboration between the WUIT and the OSCE.  Ambassador Dr. Pierre von Arx, Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan, presented to students the OSCE’s mission, goals and the development of the organization’s regional programme, as well as shared personal experience of professional development. Following the opening by Ambassador von Arx, Ms. Marte Langeland, Senior Project Officer, talked about the “Employment opportunities at the OSCE”, including internships and research assistant opportunities. Dr. Viktoria Akchurina, Senior Lecturer of the OSCE Academy delivered a guest lecture on "States, borders, and waters: on the patterns of isolation and interdependence in Central Asia." Students showed a high interest in the presentations and actively engaged in the discussion.

In the afternoon, during an open event for students, additionally to above mentioned programme, students also had an opportunity to learn more about the MA Programme of the OSE Academy in Bishkek and ask questions related to the admission process.
