On 23 January 2023, the OSCE Academy signed an Agreement with the State Personal Data Protection Agency allowing its graduates to intern at the Agency within the Junior Public Officers Programme (JPO). Within the JPO Programme, up to two alumni of the Academy from Kyrgyzstan will undergo a three-month internship, gaining work experience and applying their knowledge in practice.
The Agreement was signed by Dr. Indira Satarkulova, Acting Director of the Academy, and Dr. Nuria Kutnaeva, Director of the Agency.
Dr. Kutnaeva, an alumna of the OSCE Academy of 2005, highlighted that she was impressed by the knowledge of the OSCE Academy graduates in digital law and cybersecurity while leading a workshop conducted within Reunion 2022. Dr. Satarkulova noted that it is a great opportunity for alumni interested in data protection and digitalization, and added that it is important for the Academy when this kind of collaboration initiated by the Academy’s graduates.
Currently, the OSCE Academy has similar Agreements signed with the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the National Investments Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic. All agreements implement a Junior Public Officers (JPO) Programme initiated by the OSCE Academy. The purpose of the Programme is to give alumni of the Academy valuable work experience in the public service of their home countries.
