On 23 August 2023, the closing ceremony of the OSCE Academy Summer School took place at the Academy. A total of 70 students from Central Asia, Afghanistan, Mongolia, Russia, and Türkiye, including newly enrolled MA students of Politics and Security and Economic Governance and Development programmes, participated in this month-long preparatory programme.
The event was opened by the welcome speeches of Dr. Indira Satarkulova, Acting Director of the OSCE Academy, H.E. Nicholas Bowler, British Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic, and Mr. Colin McCullough, Senior Planning and Co-ordination Officer of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek.
During the closing ceremony, participants were awarded with the Certificates recognizing their successful completion of the programme. During the past four weeks, participants underwent specialized courses tailored to their field of study. These courses included Mathematics for Economists, Introduction to Research Methods in Social Sciences, and Academic Writing. The aim was to equip participants with essential skills and knowledge to excel in their respective academic pursuits.
As a final commemoration of their achievements and to celebrate the conclusion of the Summer School, all participants will travel on a three-day trip to the Issyk-Kul lake, where they will have a number of teambuilding and networking activities.
