Certificate Training on Conflict Sensitive Journalism takes place at the OSCE Academy

From 25 to 28 September 2023, a Certificate Training on Conflict Sensitive Journalism was held at the OSCE Academy, co-organized by the OSCE Academy and CRISP, Berlin. The training comprised sessions, lectures, simulation games, and media production. It provided participants with a comprehensive insight into reporting and the impact of media on conflict. Participants explored key elements of conflict studies, giving space for reflection on journalistic ethics when reporting on conflict situations. Furthermore, participants had an opportunity to apply their knowledge in practicing conflict-sensitive journalism by addressing and showcasing conflict situations.

The training was led by Oliver Wiechmann, a Senior Consultant, Trainer, and Project Manager at CRISP, and Elira Turdubaeva, Head of the Journalism and Mass Communications Programme at International Ala-Too University in Kyrgyzstan.
