E-book launch for researchers and students: the “European Handbook of Central Asian Studies”

On 10 November the OSCE Academy hosted the  launch of the e-book for researchers and students: the “European Handbook of Central Asian Studies” organized by the Institut Français d'Etudes sur l'Asie Centrale (IFEAC).

The event was opened by Dr. Alexander Wolters, Director of the OSCE Academy, Ambassador Eduard Auer, Head of the EU Delegation in Kyrgyzstan, and Adrien Fauve, Director of IFEAC. French Ambassador, H.E. François Delahousse, also attended the event and participated in the discussion.

The book was presented by Jeroen Van den Bosch from Adam Mickiewicz University, co-editor of the book, and Slavormir Horak from Charles University Prague, one of the authors. The Speakers shortly present the EISCAS project, co-funded by the Erasmus + Program of the European Union, the content of the book as well as presented hints for succesfull grant applications.

This handbook is the first collection of comprehensive teaching materials for teachers and students of Central Asian Studies (CAS) with a strong pedagogic dimension. It presents 22 chapters, clustered around five themes, with contributions from more than 19 scholars, all leading experts in the field of CAS and Eurasian Studies.
