Dr. Pal Dunay has led the International Training Course in Security Policy at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy since 1996, with the exception of 2004-2007, when he worked as Senior Researcher at the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI). His experience also includes directing the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs, heading the Security Policy Department of the Hungarian Ministry for Foreign Affairs and teaching at the International Law Department of Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest. Dr. Pal Dunay served as Director of the OSCE Academy in Bishkek from 2015 to 2016.
Dr. Pal Dunay holds a Ph.D. in International Relations from the Budapest University of Economics. He teaches the OSCE module.
Research interest
His main research interest has focused on different aspects of European security, including security and military developments in Eastern Europe, the security of East Central Europe, and conventional arms control. The results of this interest are reflected in his publications. This includes 5 books as author or co-author, 14 edited volumes and approximately 220 journal articles and book chapters. During the last thirty years, He attended approximately 170 international conferences in most cases as paper giver or commentator.
His current projects include a book on integration and disintegration in the post-Soviet space.
