On 9 April 2015 the Academy held a public lecture by Dr Roman Vakulchuk, senior researcher of the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs, on “Kazakhstan’s Emerging Economy: Between State and Market”. The presentation was based on the book recently published by Dr Vakulchuk.

On 3 April 2015, the Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Mr Nikolay Bordyuzha delivered a public talk at the OSCE Academy, focusing on the role and capacity of the CSTO in addressing regional security challenges in Central Asia.

On 25 March the OSCE Academy held a public lecture "Between a rock and a hard place - the Islamic Revival Party of Tajikistan and the (Re-)negotiation of Islam in contemporary Tajikistan" by Dr Tim Epkenhans.

On 19 March 2015 the OSCE Academy hosted the Russian Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic, H.E. Andrey Krutko, who held a public presentation on the Russian foreign policy in the CIS. The event gathered a large audience consisting of the students and staff of the OSCE Academy as well as interested diplomats and experts.

On March 19th the OSCE Academy held a round table on “Central Asia in 2015” for students of the Academy’s Politics and Security programme with the participation of a group from St Andrews University (United Kingdom).

On 3rd of March, Ms Rasa Ostrauskaite (Deputy Director of the Conflict Prevention Centre of the OSCE, Vienna) held a public lecture on "The Role of the OSCE in Conflict Prevention and Management: Towards New Challenges?" at the OSCE Academy in Bishkek. It focused on the Ukrainian crisis, as a turning point in the OSCE conflict management activities.

On 28th of February the OSCE Academy conducted an Open House Day, organized for Bishkek-based candidates interested in the OSCE Academy's MA in Politics and Security and MA in Economic Governance and Development Programmes.

On the 26th of February 2015 the OSCE Academy hosted a public lecture by Dr Alexey Malashenko, the Chair of the Carnegie Moscow Center’s Religion, Society and Security Programme on "Russia in Central Asia: The Fight for Influence?", during which the speaker touched upon various aspects of the internal and foreign policy of Russian Federation.

By the end of January three alumni successfully completed their internships at the Ministries of Foreign Affairs in Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan under the OSCE Academy’s Junior Public Officers’ Programme.

On 28-30 January 2015 Ms Marhabo Yodalieva, the OSCE Academy’s alumna (MA in Politics and Security, 2010) together with Dr Barbara Janusz-Pawletta, from the German-Kazakh University in Almaty, delivered lectures on Water Governance in Central Asia to the MA in Politics and Security students.
