On 25 October, the OSCE Academy in Bishkek, in collaboration with the Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen (IFA), hosted a roundtable on the topic of "Bride Kidnapping, The Status Quo and the Formation of Public Opinion: Approaches, Practices, Problems and Opportunities."

From 2 to 6 October, the OSCE Academy conducted training on writing feasibility studies for projects in the context of the state development policy (industrial development, export promotion, and infrastructure development) for junior and middle-level staff from the analytical departments of institutes, ministries and departments in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

On 13 October, students from both MA Programmes met with the Senior Political Advisor from the EBRD, HQ, London Mr. Jonathan Aves and Director for Central Asia of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Mr. Neil McKain. Mr. Aves delivered a lecture on "How the EBRD Makes Political Assessments in a Country of Operation."

From 11 to 15 September, the OSCE Academy conducted regional training analyzing the regulatory impact of regulatory legal acts for junior and mid-level officials from the analytical departments of institutes, ministries and departments in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.

On September 4th, the OSCE Academy welcomed new students to its MA programmes, for the 2017-2018 academic year, as part of its Orientation Day. Twenty-three students--from Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, and Georgia--joined the MA programme in Politics and Security. In addition, twenty-four students--from Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan--entered the MA programme in Economic Governance and Development.

On 18 August, 13 participants of the “Central Asian Summer School of Contemporary Journalism” were awarded certificates for the successful completion of this three-week long training. Within this time the young journalists were introduced in-depth into the characteristic features of TV based journalism with a focus on particular topics relevant to Central Asia.

On 12-13 August, the OSCE Academy organized a meeting of its Dushanbe alumni chapter. During these two days 24 graduates of both MA programmes, the Journalism School as well as new students of the upcoming academic year gathered.
