  • Netherlands’ OSCE PA Delegation Head Farah Karimi Meets OSCE Academy Leadership

    On the first of December, Ms. Farah Karimi, head of delegation of the Netherlands to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, and head of its ad hoc group on migration, as well as its former special representtive on Central Asia visited the OSCE Academy. Ms. Karimi, a member of the Senate of the Netherlands was met by the Director of the OSCE Academy, Dr. Pal Dunay, Deputy Director, Dr. Shairbek Dzhuraev, Head of the Research and Training Department of the Academy, Dr. Burulcha Sulaimanova, and Ms. Aiym Chotoeva, Programme Specialist for the MA in Human Rights and Sustainability (MAHRS) programme.

  • OSCE Model 2025

    From 27 to 29 November 2025, the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek, in collaboration with the OSCE Academy, brought together 20 youth representatives from various universities in Kyrgyzstan, including students from the Academy, for a Model OSCE event. This three-day initiative, facilitated by International Expert and Trainer Mr. Timur Yunusov, aimed to introduce the young participants to the OSCE through expert insights and simulated scenarios, enabling them to better understand the Organization’s processes and decision-making.

  • Annual Security Conference 2025

    On 25 and 26 November 2025, the OSCE Academy hosted its Annual Security Conference under the title “Coming of Age: Central Asia and the OSCE in a Shifting Security Landscape.” This year’s conference scale extended beyond Central Asia, gathering panelists from around the globe ranging from Canada to Germany, Italy to India. The opening part commenced with welcoming remarks from Dr. Pal Dunay, Director of the OSCE Academy. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Volker Frobarth, Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the OSCE Academy, and Dr. Fabio Indeo from the University of Siena.

  • OSCE Academy Hosts Guest Lecture by Dr. Kadyrbek Sultakeev on Climate Shocks and Livestock Farmers in Kyrgyzstan

    On 21 November 2025, the OSCE Academy welcomed Dr. Kadyrbek Sultakeev (AUCA) for a joint guest lecture attended by students of the MA in Economic Governance and Development (EGD) and the Undergraduate Programme in Economics.

  • OSCE and OSCE Academy Bring Together Young Leaders for Training on Inclusive Project Work and Digital Research

    From 14 to 17 November 2025, the OSCE Secretariat, in cooperation with the OSCE Academy in Bishkek, organized an in-person training seminar for 26 young experts from Central Asia, South-East Europe, and the Mediterranean Partners for Cooperation regions. The activity was also supported by the Embassy of Switzerland in the Kyrgyz Republic. The training focused on inclusive project activities and digital research skills.

    On 13 November 2025, the OSCE Academy in Bishkek welcomed a delegation from Switzerland, headed by H.E. Ambassador Pierre-Yves Fux, Assistant State Secretary, Head of the Eurasia Division at the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Marina Rieder, Deputy Regional Coordinator for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Siroco Messerli, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to Kyrgyzstan, Mr. Andres Müller, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Switzerland in Kyrgyzstan, and Mr. Renaud Vuignier, Head of Domain at the Embassy of Switzerland in Kyrgyzstan.

  • Visit of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office’s Special Representative on Youth, Peace and Security to the OSCE Academy in Bishkek

    On 4 November 2025, the OSCE Academy in Bishkek welcomed Mr Santeri Leinonen, Special Representative on Youth, Peace and Security of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office (CiO), and Ms Marjo Kaller, First Secretary at the Permanent Mission of Finland to the OSCE. The delegation was accompanied by Ms Guljamal Tokombaeva, National Programme Officer at the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek (POiB).

  • Policy Dialogue on Gender and Youth in Water and Energy Held in Bishkek

    On 3 and 4 November 2025, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK), in partnership with the research institute of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Auswärtige Politik (DGAP) and the OSCE Academy, co-organized a two-day policy dialogue titled “Gender and Youth in Water & Energy: Building Inclusive Futures for Central Asia.” The event gathered representatives from various international institutions, research, the development and non-governmental sector to explore the themes of gender equality and youth engagement in the governance of water and energy resources in Central Asia.

  • Training on “Digital Security and Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Governance” Held at the OSCE Academy

    On 29–30 October 2025, the OSCE Academy in Bishkek hosted a two-day training titled “Digital Security and Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Governance.” The training aimed to enhance civil servants' digital competencies, raise their awareness of cyber threats, and strengthen the skills needed for the safe and effective use of innovative technologies in public administration and environmental management.

  • Global Classroom 2025 on Business, the Environment, and Human Rights Took Place in Bangkok

    From 27 to 31 October 2025, the Global Campus of Human Rights organized its annual Global Classroom event in Bangkok, Thailand, with a focus on the themes of Business, the Environment, and Human Rights. The event was hosted by the Institute of Human Rights and Peace Studies (IHRP) at Mahidol University, a regional coordinator for the Asia-Pacific region of the Global Campus network.
